A while ago me and a friend had a chat at our club bar, and discussed the little opportunity the average bowler get to participate in a higher class of competition. Most of us playing the sport for the enjoyment don't always have the time or funds available to play at a national level. This said, doesn't necessarily mean they don't have the skill, but unfortunately, if you don't get to mix with the high rollers, you most likely will never experience a high quality game. For us out there not always available to play provincial tournaments, there is another option to mix with the upper crust of bowls. Look for tournaments with high prize money, and you will most likely get to play some of the best bowlers bowls have to offer. These tournaments might set you back a bit money wise, but is definitely worth the effort. I've stumbled upon a site giving you an idea what I'm on about. This doesn't mean you have to pack your bags and spend your life savings to fly to Australia to get drilled in a game of bowls right away...Start looking for smaller tournaments close to you and work your way from there...

Check out this link, just for an idea what I'm trying to say...
Have a good one!
